I was a Hasidic Jew, but I broke free
I think the main point I want to get across with this article is that this is NOT the norm. She was from a small sect of the Jewish religion, a very small and closed off sect. To say this is how all religious Jews are raised, and the treatment for all young Jewish girls, that would be a blatant lie. And even more so, many of the young girls love the life they are living in the Satmar community. Just because they can not wear tight knit tees doesn’t make them miserable, but rather they respect the way they are raised. This goes without saying that within every community there are extremist, and there are people who are suffering and unhappy.
Oh, and one important thing - the honeymoon…is not a no touch period, but rather all religious jews take their honeymoon usually 3 weeks post the actual wedding (when they are determined clean) in order that it will not have to be a no touch period.
Please read this article keeping in mind the above mentioned FACTS.
